The service was so good here! Precious was a wonderful server! We ordered the Calamari and Escargot for the appetizers and I ordered the Saturday chef special.
The good.... The food was phenomenal. Possibly the best calamari I've ever had. Every ounce of food had heart and soul in it and that isn't rare in Los Angeles but It never gets old. Our waiter was absolutely fantastic and all of the staff really was pretty great. The bad.... It was absolutely freezing cold in this place. I think it's a really old building and they don't have central heating so we went on a 47° night and it maybe was 60° inside. That made for a very uncomfortable eating experience. It was also oddly quiet for the first hour we were there until they realized that the music wasn't playing. Eating at a restaurant with no music is really strange. I know this is an LA staple and I guess it's decor is similar to how French restaurants are but there's a lot of gold and honestly the whole place kind of looks like your grandmother's house. Absolutely worth the trip though! 👍🏿
Wow, wow, wow!! Did I mention Wow! The food was fantastic!! The service was fantastic!! The drinks were fantastic! The overall experience was fantastic! I highly recommend TF restaurant. Especially if you want to impress someone special. Go... you'll love it!
LA's oldest French restaurant with bread and butter and white tablecloths. Great cocktails but nothing special... the French equivalent to Miceli's. I had Chicken Breast a la diable which wasn't anything like how I expected it to be. I was also surprised to see Paella on the menu!
They have some great gluten free options if that's your bag.
It's a pretty causal locals spot (they were playing the dodger game on tv lol) but the prices don't really reflect that.
I love the ambiance of the Tudor ornamentation and the big booths carpeted floors and stained glass most of all.
A true taste of France! From the moment we stepped in, we were greeted with warm and attentive service that set the tone for a fantastic evening. The food was an absolute delight, with exquisite flavors that transported us to the heart of Provence. The ambiance was romantic and cozy, with dimmed lights and soft music that created a perfect backdrop for a special celebration. Don't miss the opportunity to savor this exceptional experience!
I recently dined at Taix French Restaurant, and I was absolutely delighted by the entire experience. The service was impeccable, with attentive and knowledgeable staff who guided us through the menu with grace. The food was a true culinary masterpiece; every dish was bursting with flavor and beautifully presented. The ambiance was cozy and romantic, transporting us to a little corner of France. A perfect spot for a special evening out.
I recently had the pleasure of dining at Taix, a french restaurant, and I must say, it was an absolutely delightful experience. The atmosphere of the restaurant was elegant and sophisticated, with traditional french decor. Upon arriving at the restaurant, I was greeted by the waiter who escorted me to my reserved table. The lighting in this section of the restaurant was dimmed, creating a warm and inviting ambiance that was perfect for a romantic evening out or a quiet dinner with friends. The tables were well-spaced, providing a sense of privacy and exclusivity. The overall atmosphere was quiet and serene, with only the soft murmur of conversation around you, making it an ideal place for couples, friends, and families looking to enjoy a delicious meal in a relaxed setting. The service was attentive and professional, with servers who are knowledgeable about the menu and able to provide recommendations. I decided to eat the Steak Frites au Poivre which is a classic French dish that typically consists of steak that is pan-seared and served with a peppercorn sauce, and fries. The steak is typically cooked to the desired level of doneness and I chose medium well in order to balance both tenderness and flavor and I must say, it was an incredibly delicious experience. The steak itself had a rich and complex flavor, with a perfect balance of tenderness and juiciness. The peppercorn sauce added a bold and savory taste that complemented the steak perfectly. The fries were also amazing, they were crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, they balanced the richness of the steak. The dish was presented beautifully, and it was clear that a lot of care and attention had gone into its preparation. I highly recommend giving it a try if you ever have the opportunity, it’s sure to be a culinary delight. In addition to the delicious meal, I also had the pleasure of trying one of the restaurant's desserts, a chocolate mousse. I must say, it was truly a decadent experience. The mousse had a rich and velvety texture, with a strong milk chocolate flavor that was both intense and indulgent. The mousse was whipped and it was so silky that it was almost like cream, it was incredibly delicious and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a comfortable dining experience. It was the perfect end to a perfect meal, and it left a lasting impression on me.
I’ve been there several times, and my dear friends go there regularly
Last night we were served by Joel who provided excellent service
Every time we go there it is an excellent experience. The cocktails are delicious and last night the French 75 were wonderful. The potato leek soup was delicious, and the salmon dish was perfectly cooked
This has always been a five star rating in my opinion
You will have a wonderful experience and delicious meal!
